Escrow Payment System
ARTEDUSA uses an escrow payment system to protect both buyers and sellers. Learn how funds are held, when they are released, and what safeguards are in place.
HOW ESCROW WORKS
When a collector purchases an artwork, the payment is immediately captured and held securely by the platform. The funds are not transferred to the seller until the buyer confirms receipt of the artwork.
This escrow model protects both parties: the buyer is guaranteed a refund if the artwork is never shipped, and the seller is guaranteed payment once delivery is confirmed.
ESCROW TIMELINE
The escrow process follows a strict timeline with built-in safeguards:
- Payment captured: Immediately when the collector completes the purchase.
- Shipping deadline: The gallery or artist must ship the artwork within 14 days. If not shipped within this period, the buyer is automatically refunded.
- Receipt confirmation: The buyer has 30 days after shipping to confirm receipt. If no response is received within 30 days, receipt is automatically confirmed.
- Fund transfer: After receipt is confirmed (manually or automatically), funds are credited to the seller's bank account within 2–5 business days.
AUTOMATIC SAFEGUARDS
The escrow system includes two automatic protections:
If the seller does not ship within 14 days, the platform automatically issues a full refund to the buyer. No manual intervention is required.
If the buyer does not confirm receipt within 30 days of shipping, the platform automatically confirms delivery and initiates the fund transfer to the seller.
