Osman Hamdi Bey

Osman Hamdi Bey is a Turkish painter and archaeologist, born on December 30, 1842 in Istanbul and died on February 24, 1910. He is considered the founder of archaeology museums in Turkey and is famous for his Orientalist paintings. He also played a key role in establishing the law on the protection of cultural heritage in Turkey.
