José Ferraz de Almeida Júnior

José Ferraz de Almeida Júnior is a Brazilian painter, born on May 8, 1850 in Itu and died on November 13, 1899 in Piracicaba. He is generally considered the main Brazilian realist painter of the 19th century for his paintings depicting farmers or other rural inhabitants, notably the caipira of the São Paulo region.
