Jan van Eyck

Jan van Eyck is a Flemish painter, born around 1390 in Maaseik and died in Bruges on July 9, 1441. He is famous for his minutely realistic portraits and is considered one of the greatest artists of 15th-century Flemish art. His most famous works include the portrait of the Arnolfini couple and the Ghent Altarpiece.
